simple pleasures

The last few flowers a friend brought us from her garden. They were a marvelous colour!

Baking: I've recently successfully endeavored to make the following: chocolate chip cookies with a gourmet twist(have made these several times since), Bailey's Cupcakes (texture was a bit 'muffin-ish' for me), decadent buttermilk cupcakes, and these delicate lime melts pictured above. Yes, it's true--I've become the family member that marches onto the unit armed with my home-made delicacies. A well fed-nurse is a happy nurse, no?

During times of stress of course a girl must employ the age-old strategy of acquiring cute (but not necessarily sensible, and certainly not needed) SHOES. Wandering into this store is usually a recipe for trouble. At least these slick little babies can pass as work attire! Notice the fine details and the red whip-stitching around the sole which makes them a little edgey.

And the best-est for the last: your darling hubby who has just groomed and bathed the formerly fuzzball Miss Sophie. Two of my most favorite things in the whole wide world snuggled up on the couch, what could be sweeter than that?

It's the little things in life, isn't it? Whoo hoo for feeding nurses!

I can't argue that the last picture is probably your favorite, but those shoes are too cute!

I'm making my co-workers fat too! Don't you find baking therapeutic? I just love making things with my own hands (and they taste better that way too!)

Love the color of those flowers too!

I love them all but that last one is sweet, you can't beat your two favorite things together in one image ;)
